FYI: These carvings done on Damiens back I did with my thumbnails only! By the time of this shoot we had about 5 hours worth of work done already. The method to this form of scarification is to carve his skin with my nails hard and repeatedly, though not allowing the skin to break and bleed. But it is done hard enough to make it scab, and deep enough to make it scar.

Since this shoot we added another 4 hours to it, including a big pentagram in the center.
